Worship God

St Paul's Handbell choir in action!

Worship is where we hear God's promises to which faith clings.

Whether you are a long time believer, or have just heard of Jesus for the first time, worship is a time and place set aside to receive God's word.  It is by this word, the gospel of Jesus Christ, that we live by faith anew each day, believing God's word of forgiveness of sin.

Jesus Christ told the world that he “came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:28)  And so he welcomes you into his worship service in order to serve you today. Take this hour and let God work on you, taking your sin, your pain, and your struggles, and in return giving you forgiveness, comfort, and joy, through God’s Word, so that you might live a new life in Christ.

All who attend worship have been gathered by the Holy Spirit for a time to rest in God’s care, to hear the Word of God, and to receive the gifts of forgiveness and new life in Christ Jesus.

In our weekly worship there is confession and forgiveness of sin, prayers, hymns, scripture readings, preaching, and the Lord's supper. St. Paul's has a wonderful organ and a beautiful sanctuary, helpful ushers, and people needing to hear a good word. All of which are used to give the gifts of Christ to those God calls and gathers to this congregation.
